Description:

We are looking for an entry level engineer in our Power Distribution Group. The individual will work in diverse facets to assist our electric utility clients in the Midwest. We are looking for someone for line design, road moves, site inspections and planning. This includes structure design, finite element analysis, the ability to read and understand road plans, and understand how construction units fit together. This department typically designs for 25,000 volts and below.

This position will grow into managing your own clients. Training will be provided.

Description:

We are looking for a Protection and Control Relay Engineer to join our Joplin, MO office location.

Responsibilities:
  • Development of schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings for fabrication of relay panels in accordance with client and industry standards
  • Updating schematics and wiring diagrams to install and interface relay control panels with medium and high voltage transmission and distribution substation equipment
  • Development of logic diagrams and relay settings for protective relays, event analysis and coordination of relay settings among neighboring utilities
Requirements:
  • 5 years experience

  • PE license or ability to obtain PE license

Successful candidates with 5-10 years of Structural Engineering experience should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering college. Candidates should possess a Professional Engineering Registration in the State of Missouri or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment. This person would work with other engineers emphasizing support for water/wastewater systems and transportation facilities and other miscellaneous structural calculations and designs, while also coordinating land surveying and soil testing. Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients in both oral presentations and written reports is also desired. The company utilizes a wide variety of computer-based design tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ESRI. Applicants are desired to have experience in utilizing one or more of these software programs.

Description:

This position is for those seeking a career in the design of electric utility substations. Compensation is highly competitive commensurate with experience.

Joplin, MO office location.

Responsibilities:
  • Phsyical and substation technical and structural design of electric utility substations
  • Physical layout
  • Equipment sizing evaluations
  • Civil loading and foundation analysis
  • Site grading layout and design
  • Major equipment and switch specification
  • Manufacturer drawing approval
  • Development of material lists

The candidate must work closely with clients, requiring strong communication skills. He or she must also be able to develop contract documents for construction, as well as material and equipment contracts. Some travel to and from clients, primarily within our 4-state area, as well as the project sites for inspections, will be required from time to time.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • PE License in Missouri, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to work with other engineers and technicians to develop a set of drawings and specifications for the construction of substation facilities
  • EHV design or Autodesk Inventor experience

We are looking for a graduate civil engineer to fill a permanent position with our Civil Engineering Department. This person will work with other engineers emphasizing hydrology and hydraulics engineering. Hydrologic modeling, analysis, and design are regular expectations. Our primary markets are municipal public works, counties, utilities, and private land development.

Rolla, MO office location.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and design projects for stormwater, streambank stabilization, bridge and culvert design, and land development
  • Coordinate design with owners, regulatory agencies, and draftsmen
  • Coordinate construction with owners, contractors, and inspectors
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited degree program
  • Professional Engineering registration in the State of Missouri or the ability to obtain one
  • Proficiency with engineering hydrologic and hydraulic software (such as HEC1, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, etc)
  • Proficiency with either CAD or mapping software (such as AutoCAD, Global Mapper, ESRI)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks
Desired Education:
  • Master’s degree in Hydrology/Hydraulics engineering or a similar degree program from an ABET-accredited degree program
