A Partnership is Formed
Allgeier, Martin and Associates was founded when Elmer Allgeier and Kent Martin formed a partnership in 1954 in Lamar, Missouri.

The original associates were Emmett Green, Vernon Lawson, and Charlie Davidson.

Staff included one additional engineer, two draftsmen, and a secretary. Services included electric power engineering, civil engineering, and architecture. In 1956, soon after the firm's formation, the company moved to Joplin, Missouri.
1965
In just over ten years, the company grew to over 60 employees
New offices were constructed in Joplin. The facilities were expanded five times over 46 years.
1978
Allgeier, Martin and Associates, Inc. was incorporated on September 1, 1978
On that day, Elmer Allgeier retired from the company, and sold his shares to the remaining directors. Kent Martin was elected President of the new corporation, and Vernon Lawson, Emmett Green, and Charlie Davidson were elected as Vice Presidents.
1992
We became a 100% employee-owned company
An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was developed, dividing ownership between shares held by the ESOP, and restricted shares held by select employees.
2006
Allgeier Martin acquired Wilson Hydro
The small civil engineering firm was located in Rolla, MO, giving Allgeier Martin a satellite office. The Rolla location was staffed with three civil engineers that specialized in hydrology and stormwater systems design. Our employee count had grown to 109.
2011
New Joplin Offices
A new facility was constructed in the Crossroads Business Park in Joplin, bringing corporate operations under one roof for the first time since the early 1970’s.The number of our staff grew to 116 by the year’s end.
2011
Tornado Recovery
After the 2011 Joplin Tornado, we designed and built power lines in the City. The week following the storm, our crews performed field design and staked 7 miles of power line. In the following months, we completed an additional 10 miles.
The City also needed a consultant to assess and repair the wastewater collection system. Allgeier Martin rebuilt and upgraded 62 miles of sanitary sewer.
2016
A new branch office was added in Kansas City, MO
2017
A new branch office was added in Springfield, MO
2020
Allgeier Martin acquired White River Engineering
The firm's office was located in Springfield, MO. This allowed the other engineers working in the city to move into a shared office space.
2021
A new branch office was added in Tulsa, OK
2023
A new branch office was added in Bentonville, AR
2025
In the Summer of 2025, we began a 13,000-square-foot expansion—adding 50% more space to our Joplin, Missouri headquarters. By the end of 2024, our team had grown to 149 employees, marking a 28% increase since opening the current Joplin office in 2011.
