South Service Area Sanitary Sewer & Lift Stations
Harrisonville, MO

Background
A small package treatment plant on the south side of the city fell into disrepair and out of compliance with DNR. This prompted a response from the City to rehabilitate or remove the plant. The City also forecasts significant growth in the next 20 years. This is particularly true in the south part of the city where there is currently no sewer service.

Activity
Rather than pour money into fixing the treatment plant, the City decided to abandon the south treatment plant. Instead, the Trekk/AMA team recommended three new lift stations to pump these sewer flows to the main treatment plant. A series of three lift stations will pump to an existing gravity sewer line. This gravity line is two miles from the current south treatment plant. The City will pick up additional customers while expanding their service area for future development. Allgeier Martin was selected as the subconsultant to TREKK Design Group to design the lift stations.
