South High Street Improvements

The City of Joplin renovated historic Joe Becker Stadium. The renovation was in preparation of receiving a semi-pro baseball team. The baseball stadium is located in an area of town needing renewal. The city wished to upgrade the adjacent street and related infrastructure. The hope was to encourage more private development to accompany the new Joe Becker Stadium.

Allgeier Martin completed the design to improve South High Street on the west side of Joe Becker Stadium. The improvements included stormwater capacity, new sidewalks, new curb and gutter, and street widening. AMA used detailed hydrologic modeling to improve the deteriorated and undersized drainage structures. The newly renovated street compliments the new stadium. Improved infrastructure now creates better value to prospective developers.
