Electric Cooperative Warehouse Site Development

Background

A previously surveyed site was selected for the addition of a 300-foot by 100-foot warehouse, designed by others. Allgeier Martin was engaged to develop the site, including grading and drainage design. Later in the project, the Cooperative requested AMA’s assistance with designing a wastewater system to serve the new facility.

The selected building location was on a sloped area of the site, requiring thoughtful grading to level the building pad and allow for full line truck access around the structure. The entrance bays were oriented along the 300-foot side, necessitating workable drive grades along the long axis of the facility. AMA designed a site drainage plan to safely convey stormwater away from the structure and minimize impact to downstream residents. A dry detention basin was incorporated to reduce peak runoff and help control erosion on neighboring properties. Due to soft surface soils and shallow rock, special measures were also required to stabilize the driving surface.
