Dover Hill Elementary School
Joplin, MO

Background
Outdated facilities with poor access required a new elementary school with a better location.

Activity
Allgeier Martin (AMA) has been involved with the project from the early stages of site selection. AMA has worked with the School District, community groups, Architect, and Construction team to evaluate potential sites and provide cost estimates for the new facility. Once a site was selected, the AMA team worked on conceptual layout of the new campus. The property contained substantial elevation changes and potential access challenges. Allgeier Martin worked with the project stakeholders to develop a site plan to maximize use of the site, balance site grading challenges, and provide access at multiple locations. The increased access allowed for substantial parent parking and multiple entrance/exit points. The site plan design met client needs while overcoming significant grade changes. Extension of water, sanitary sewer, gas and electric to the site, stormwater detention and conveyance on the site, entrance roadways, retaining walls and site grading were all part of the design of this project.
