Background
The client wished to build a state-of-the-art entertainment complex in the heart of downtown Joplin. A location was chosen on the parking lot of the historic Memorial Hall. The location presented site challenges such as space constraints, stormwater handling, and geotechnical risks.
Activity
The Allgeier Martin (AMA) team worked closely with the architectural group to put together design plans and specifications that provided usable outdoor spaces for various types of events. Events included weddings, car shows, and concerts, along with the necessary infrastructure to support the facility.
Technical Design & Features
- 2.3-acre site development
- Site grading, parking lots, & sidewalks
- 720 LF of storm sewer including a vortex separator unit for water quality
- Relocated 560 LF of existing sanitary sewer
- Water, sewer, electric, & gas service extensions
