345kV, 161kV, & 69kV Substation Upgrade
Southwest Missouri

Background
An Electric Cooperative in Southwest Missouri required a significant substation upgrade to increase transmission flexibility and capacity. This included improvements to the existing 161/69 kV substation and the addition of a 345/161 kV, 400 MVA transformer to interconnect the 345 kV and 161 kV systems. Allgeier Martin developed transformer specifications, relay and panel designs, and complete construction and contract documentation. AMA also supported procurement by reviewing vendor bids and recommending contract awards. Material specifications were coordinated for all voltage classes, and vendor drawings were reviewed to ensure compliance with design intent. The project was completed on schedule and within budget.
