20th & Malang Lift Station Improvements

Background

Residential development projects within the 20th and Malang lift station drainage basin were presented to the City. These projects showed the potential for over 750 homes. The existing 20th and Malang lift station had some remaining capacity. However, the developments could not be approved without a lift station capacity evaluation. Additionally, there were remaining undeveloped areas within the drainage basin that had development potential.

Activity

The City engaged Allgeier, Martin to evaluate the situation and determine the most cost-effective solution. The solution required increased capacity of the 20th and Malang lift station drainage basin. Our solution recommended a two-phased approach that would allow increased capacity within the basin. The first phase would construct flow equalization to increase the lift station’s capacity to allow for the development of 750 homes.
