Southeast Missouri

161/69kV Substation Upgrade

Background

One of the Power Cooperative’s 161/69 kV substations required infrastructure upgrades to enhance safety and operational efficiency. Allgeier Martin managed the full design process and construction schedule, including specifying and assisting with the purchase of all major equipment. Previous drawings were converted to CAD, and a new 3D model was developed to produce updated construction documents. AMA also assembled contract documents and technical specifications, designed and detailed all improvements, and provided on-site representation during construction.

The project included an extension of the conduit and manhole system to new prefabricated concrete control and battery buildings, installation of all necessary control and power cabling, relay panel wiring, and cutover procedures.
