Protective Relaying Technician / Draftsperson
We are looking for a protective relaying technician/drafter to fill a permanent position with our Electrical Engineering Department. This person would assist our engineers in producing CAD-generated drawings, with instruction from peers, for final review and approval of professional staff. Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with engineers and technicians is also desired.
Responsibilities
- Complete accurate and thorough CAD drawings, on time, and compliant with firm standards.
- Drawings will include electrical control schematics, control panel wiring diagrams, control panel construction drawings, substation equipment connection diagrams, and other required drafting output.
- Exercise significant judgment in the production phase to ensure the final draft meets design and industry criteria.
- Maintain and retrieve files and archived material.
- Coordinate with and assist other employees on projects, standards, and routine technical issues.
- Research archives and other sources in the course of routine projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field of study with CAD training at a minimum is desired.
- A sound knowledge of drafting principles and AutoCAD is required.
- The ability to precisely follow specific instructions, accurately implement general directions; visualize abstract data; and use time-efficient drafting and production skills are required.
- Efficient with Microsoft Office.
- Math skills required, math background is a plus.
