AM In The AM
A collection of articles written by our staff.

We recently revived our employee newsletter, now called AM Memo, to explore how the company has evolved since its first edition, The Tangent, in 1998. Current employees highlighted significant changes including more detailed drawings, improved branding, a diverse workforce, expanded office locations, and ongoing modernization efforts.
We spoke with Senior Engineer Gene Spears and our newest Graduate Engineer Spencer Warrick about their career perspectives. Gene, with AMA since 1966, specializes in water and wastewater projects, while Spencer, who joined as an intern in 2021, focuses on water and wastewater design.
The Neosho School District used funds from The Next Step Ballot Measure to upgrade facilities, including two storm shelters and the High School End Zone Facility. Allgeier, Martin and Associates contributed to the Middle School site development, High School Performing Arts Center, and End Zone Facility, addressing stormwater management issues due to proximity to a floodplain.
On May 26, Allgeier Martin introduced new mission and vision statements along with a three-year strategic plan, with support from Zweig Group. The company's focus remains on personal service and employee satisfaction, while committing to quality, integrity, and collaboration.
Spotlight on AMA's Summer Interns: Justin Hansen, an Electrical Engineering major from the University of Arkansas, enjoys soccer and fixing electronics; Anastasia Pace, from Grove, OK, is an Electrical Engineering student at John Brown University who likes running and thrift shopping; Tim Loftness, a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Arkansas, loves hiking and hunting; Tori Yantis, a Civil Engineering major from Iowa State University, balances working out with playing guitar and spending time with her dogs; and Alex Cook, a Civil Engineering student from the University of Arkansas, is passionate about baseball and outdoor activities.
Shelyn, a Civil Process Engineer at AMA since 2021, specializes in water and wastewater projects. With degrees in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, she is embracing new challenges in civil engineering and enjoys the collaborative environment at AMA, where her work in design and client interactions is expanding her expertise and experience.
Sarah, a Civil Engineer at AMA since 2006, specializes in stormwater projects and was the firm's first female engineer. Balancing a busy life with two kids, a dog, and two birds, she enjoys a range of hobbies and values her supportive work environment, where she has grown in confidence and expertise despite early challenges and misconceptions about her role.
When infrastructure projects require the use of private property for utilities and public works, land acquisition professionals step in to negotiate fair easements or rights-of-way. Allgeier Martin's Land Acquisition team balances the interests of project owners and private property owners to ensure a smooth and equitable process, saving time and avoiding potential legal issues.
