GOODMAN, MO — Robert Dean Carpenter, age 65, Goodman, Mo., passed away on
Wednesday May 25, 2011, at Freeman Hospital following a short illness.
Robert was born on Aug. 12, 1945, in Pleasanton, Kan., the son of the late
Harold and Clara Fern (Rhynerson) Carpenter. He has lived in this area for
the past 36 years, moving here from Lenexa, Kan. He was the CFO and Senior
Vice-President of Allgeier Martin and Associates, Inc. He enjoyed fishing,
woodworking, and the outdoors. Bob had a lifelong love of computers. An
interest in computers was sparked while a student at PSU. He was
acknowledged by the Missouri Board of Regents and began the computer
departments at MSSC, School of the Ozarks and Johnson County Community
Colleges. If you had a problem with your computer, you wanted to call Bob!
He is survived by one son, Darin Carpenter, Goodman, Mo.; one daughter
Kristin Rezen and husband Tim, Lawson, Mo.; one brother, Richard Carpenter
and wife Sandi, Pleasanton, Kan.; two sisters, Joyce Hazelbaker and Mike
Vban, Pleasanton, Kan., and Carol Nortman and husband Marvin, Grandview,
Mo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be
at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Larry Shoemaker, Minister will
officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasanton Cemetery in
Pleasanton. The pallbearers will be Chad Carpenter, Chase Carpenter, Chane
Carpenter, Christopher Ackerson, Adam Harper and Marshal Long. The family
will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be given to the Joplin Red Cross Tornado Relief

JOPLIN, MO — Johnnie Ray Richey, age 52, Joplin, passed away on Sunday,
May 22, 2011, as a result of injuries sustained in the tornado. Johnnie was
born Oct. 7, 1958, in Webb City, Mo., son of the late Ernie "Cork" Richey
and Joyce Mosher Richey of Joplin. Johnnie graduated from Webb City High
School and attended MSSU. He has worked for Allgeier Martin and Associates
for over 30 years and was currently a project engineer. He was an active
member of the Joplin Elks Lodge No. 501, where he was a Trustee. He enjoyed
volunteering his time with the youth at both Carl Richards locations and
worked with Habitat for Humanity. He was also attended St. James United
Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, Johnnie is survived by a son,
Sgt. Adam Richey and wife Raygen of Jacksonville, N.C.; a grandson, Griffin
Ray Richey; sister, Kerri Simms and husband Don, of Farmington, Mo.; nieces
and nephews, Kelsey Smith, of Fayetteville, Ark., Tara Simms, of Farmington,
Justin Simms, Jordan Simms and Jesse Simms, all of Festus, Mo.; several
aunts and uncles and cousins, and his faithful canine companion, Sugar.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Parker
Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with
Terry McCullum, Bill Dutton, Kevin Keys, Jeremy Clark, Glen Davidson and
Chris Erisman serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at
Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. A gathering of friends will
follow the committal service at Carl Richards 4th Street Bowl. Memorial
